The last blade was installed yesterday on the fifth and final GE Renewable Energy Haliade 150-6MW turbine on the Block Island Wind Farm. The first turbine was installed on 4th August, meaning the project was completed successfully well ahead of schedule.

“We are extremely proud to have been part of this historic first offshore wind project in the US together with GE Renewable Energy, Deepwater Wind, Fred. Olsen Windcarrier and the rest of the involved parties,” said Michael Høj Olsen, Chief Commercial Officer of Global Wind Service (GWS).

“This is yet another example of the importance of thorough planning and assigning the right team of skilled and experienced technicians and project management. There is no doubt that our extensive experience in GWS has been key to deliver on yet another offshore wind project.”
