- Order for 48 units of S97 120m Hybrid Tower and 15 units of S97 90m tubular tower with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW each
- Project to be commissioned in Andhra Pradesh by March 2017
- Project will provide power to over 70,000 households and offset 0.28 million tonnes CO2 emissions annually
Pune, India: ReNew Power Ventures Ltd, India’s leading renewable energy Independent Power Producer today issued an order to Suzlon Group, one of the leading renewable energy solutions providers in the world.
The order comprises of Suzlon’s latest product offerings and includes S97 90 meter tubular tower and S97 120m Hybrid Tower with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW each. The project is capable of providing power to over 70,000 households and reducing 0.28 million tonnes of CO2 emissions per annum.
Suzlon will provide a comprehensive range of services and dedicated life cycle asset management services for an initial period of 12 years. The project will be located in two sites, Elutalla and Veerbhadra sites in the Ananthpur district of Andhra Pradesh and is scheduled to be completed by March 2017. With this order, Suzlon’s portfolio with ReNew Power would exceed 500 MW (510.30 MW) spanning across the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. ReNew Power has 220 MW of wind projects in pipeline in Andhra Pradesh. Renew Power is one of the leading customers of Suzlon.

The innovative S9X series product portfolio is designed to optimally harness the available wind resources and deliver higher energy and return on investment (ROI) to customers. The S97 2.1 MW wind turbine generator (WTG) features the time tested Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) technology which is designed to maximise generation and unlock low wind sites.
The S97 120m is one of the tallest all-steel hybrid tower (120 meter height) in the world and combines both lattice and tubular structures. The S97 120m prototype, set up in November 2014, at Kutch, Gujarat, achieved a plant load factor (PLF) of 35% over the first 12 months of operation. As on March 2016, S97 120m and S97 90m have installations of 281.40 MW and 1035.30 MW respectively.
