A2SEA signs agreement with UK suppliers for Dudgeon OWF and Burbo Bank Ext.
(WK-intern) – Within the last couple of weeks, A2SEA has signed agreements with two UK suppliers in relation with two upcoming UK projects; A&P Tyne for Dudgeon
OWF and Cammell Laird for Burbo Bank Ext.
A2SEA is currently in the planning phase for its next two projects in the UK, Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm for Statoil, Masdar and Statkraft and Burbo Bank Ext. for DONG
“It is the first time, we are mobilising in the UK,” says Jens Frederik Hansen, CEO in A2SEA and continues; “Our sea fastening will be produced in the UK, too, and we look
forward to strengthening our working relationship with UK suppliers.”
Increasing local content is part of A2SEA’s overall strategy to bring down the cost of levelized energy. With three upcoming projects in the UK, a strong UK network of suppliers is important for the Danish offshore wind installer, A2SEA.
SEA CHALLENGER will install the 402MW Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm, which comprises of 67 Siemens 6MW turbines. First, the vessel will act as accommodation vessel
for the project from September until turbine installation is planned to start in the beginning of 2017. Load out port will be Hull.
SEA INSTALLER will install the 256MW Burbo Bank Ext., which comprises of 32 MHI Vestas 8MW turbines. The project will start during September and load out port will be Belfast.
